SUMMARY

Tornadoes and hurricanes are distinct meteorological phenomena with unique characteristics and formation processes. Tornadoes form when cold air is trapped beneath warm air, creating conditions for rotation, while hurricanes develop over warm ocean waters, fueled by heat and moisture. The eye of a hurricane represents its calm center, contrasting with the intense winds surrounding it. Understanding these differences is crucial for accurate weather forecasting and safety measures.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic meteorological concepts, including atmospheric pressure and temperature gradients.
  • Understanding of storm formation processes, specifically for tornadoes and hurricanes.
  • Familiarity with the structure of hurricanes, including the eye and eyewall.
  • Knowledge of weather systems and their impact on local climates.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specific atmospheric conditions that lead to tornado formation.
  • Study the stages of hurricane development and the role of ocean temperatures.
  • Explore the differences in wind patterns between tornadoes and hurricanes.
  • Learn about the tools used for tracking and predicting severe weather events.
USEFUL FOR

Students of meteorology, weather enthusiasts, and professionals involved in disaster preparedness and response will benefit from this discussion.

Now, I knwo that tornadoes and hurricanes are diff. so we'll deal w/ them separately. First of all, differences; I heard that the most intense area for hurricane is the eye of it which is in the middles whereas, for tornado, that's completely opposite. For similarity, we know they both spin. Now let's move on.

I know that tornadoes are caused when cold air is trapped by warm air but how does that results in spin?

What causes a hurricane?

Please be really descriptive about both of these coz I have read about both of them in books and I am still not totally clear about it.
