AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the perception of individuals with prominent birthmarks or moles, often viewed negatively in terms of sexual attractiveness and character. While some believe that moles may indicate underlying health issues or character flaws, experts clarify that moles are typically benign skin growths resulting from genetic factors and UV exposure, not personality traits. The presence of moles can be influenced by DNA damage and environmental factors, but most moles are harmless and common, especially as people age. It is recommended to monitor any changes in moles and consult a dermatologist if unusual characteristics arise. Overall, while societal biases exist, the medical consensus emphasizes that moles are generally not indicative of a person's character or health status.

We can't dismiss a system of medicine that doesn't define success in the same way as our Western system.
I'd argue that every system of medicine has the same goal. To heal people and keep them healthy. If a system of medicine doesn't have that as its primary goal then it is difficult to even call it a system of medicine. Thus we absolutely can dismiss a system that is woefully ineffective compared to another system.

Unfortunately this thread has wandered wildly off topic and we have received several reports about it. After discussion with the other mentors it has been decided to keep this thread closed.
