What Happens When Electrons Collide with Photons and Lasers?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the interactions between electrons and photons, particularly when photons or lasers are fired through a slit. It highlights the dual nature of electrons, suggesting they can exist in multiple states simultaneously. The conversation also touches on theoretical scenarios involving electron collisions and their implications in spacetime, especially near black holes. The humorous analogy to "crossing the streams" from Ghostbusters emphasizes the complexity and potential chaos of these interactions.

PREREQUISITES
  • Quantum mechanics fundamentals
  • Understanding of photon behavior and properties
  • Basic principles of spacetime and black holes
  • Knowledge of electron interactions and particle physics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research quantum superposition and its implications for electrons
  • Study the behavior of photons in quantum optics
  • Explore the effects of particle collisions in high-energy physics
  • Investigate the nature of spacetime around black holes
USEFUL FOR

Physicists, students of quantum mechanics, and anyone interested in the fundamental interactions of particles and the nature of spacetime.

photons or lasers fired through a slit. an electron can be two places at one time. or are the electrons split into a rainbow. in spacetime towards a black hole are you drawn in or do you get thrown out. electrons maybe "visit" neighbour nuclei then maybe come back. if an electron accidently bumped into another electron what would happen?

If two electrons collide... well... you know how they weren't supposed to "cross the streams" in Ghostbusters? Well, that happens to the WHOLE UNIVERSE. True story.
