The functional group R2C=N+=CR2 is identified as a 2-azaallene cation. Participants clarify the naming conventions of related functional groups, such as quaternary ammonium, iminium, and nitrilium. The discussion emphasizes the importance of accurate nomenclature in organic chemistry. The term "2-azaallene" is proposed as the appropriate name for this specific cation. Accurate identification of such groups is crucial for understanding their chemical behavior and applications.

TL;DR
I don't know what these compounds are called.
I know R4N+ is a quaternary ammonium, R2C=N+R2 is an iminium, and R-C≡N+-R is a nitrilium, but what is an R2C=N+=CR2 cation called?
