The price in the shop is $ 20 by how much % you how to reduce the price to get 15
So 20= to 100%. if you take away 20 from 15 you get 5
So if you take 100-5 =95
So is it 95%
if it is wrong explain please

What is 95% of $20?

$ 19, but is it correct?

If 95% of $20 is $19, how can you get that reducing the a price of $20 by 95% gives you $15?

Set up the problem as a mathematical equation.

Help me to set up the equation, because I'm confused.

Start simply: If you were told that there was a sale where items were 40% off, how would you go about calculating the price to pay for something originally costing $20?

As @DrClaude said, set up an equation to represent the situation. What you wrote here makes no sense. "20= to 100%" ??
If you take away 20 from 15, you don't get 5.
If you have $15 in your wallet, can you spend $20 and still have $5 left?

The numbers in the problem are 20 and 15.
