SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the concept of invalidating scientific experiments in the context of extinction phenomena. Participants clarify that while interpretations of experiments can be invalidated, the experiments themselves, when conducted correctly, remain valid observations of nature. The conversation also touches on the ambiguity of the term "invalidate" and questions whether it pertains to optical extinction. This highlights the importance of precise terminology in scientific discourse.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of scientific methodology and experimental design
  • Familiarity with the concept of extinction phenomena in scientific contexts
  • Knowledge of optical extinction and its implications in experiments
  • Basic comprehension of logical reasoning and validity in scientific interpretations
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the principles of scientific validity and how they apply to experimental results
  • Explore the concept of extinction phenomena and its impact on scientific observations
  • Learn about optical extinction and its relevance in various scientific fields
  • Investigate the philosophical implications of interpreting scientific data
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, scientists, and students in the fields of natural sciences, philosophy of science, and experimental design who seek to understand the nuances of scientific validity and interpretation.

what experiments, if any, have been invalidated by the extinction phenomena.

I do not think your question as stated is very understandable.
The first thing I don't understand is what you mean by "invalidate an experiment" ?
An experiment which has been correctly done is merely an observation of Nature and can not be invalidated, unless it has been done wrongly.

well grounded in logic or truth or having legal force, or still legally acceptable
You can invalidate an interpretation, but not an experiment.

you mean optical extinction ?
