I'm looking for a text-based quiz program that I can put in questions and take quizzes. I need it to help study a whole slew of definitions for chemistry as well as vocabulary words for a foreign language. When I was in the military I had this program that had a simple XML file for questions and answers and a small exe file, but I can no longer find it! Thanks

When I wanted to do something similar I found it easiest to just create a spreadsheet. Put questions in one column, answers in another, and a random number in a third. Sort by random number to randomize. Make the column with answers black text/background so answers aren't visible. Go down the line and highlight the cells to see answer.

If you've had any experience with spreadsheet programs (e.g. excel or openoffice) this should be quite easy for you to do.

That is actually a really good idea. I will definitely give that a try. Thanks.

I am still open to any other suggestions if anyone knows of a program like this.

sporcle.com is an website where you can create text-based quizzes for others to play (you could probably create some quizzes to study with).
