SUMMARY

The original papers of Paul Dirac, particularly the one where the Dirac equation is derived, can be accessed for free through the Royal Society's website. Users should search for the author 'Dirac' on the Royal Society's free site, specifically in the Proceedings A section, where many of his classic papers are archived. The Dirac Equation was first published in 'The Quantum Theory of the Electron' in 1928, documented in Proceedings of the Royal Society London A, volume 117, pages 610-624.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with quantum mechanics concepts
  • Understanding of the Dirac equation
  • Basic knowledge of academic publishing and archives
  • Ability to navigate online research databases
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the Royal Society's digital archives for historical scientific papers
  • Research the implications of the Dirac equation in modern physics
  • Study the development of quantum theory in the early 20th century
  • Learn about the contributions of Paul Dirac to theoretical physics
USEFUL FOR

Students, researchers, and physicists interested in the historical context and foundational papers of quantum mechanics, particularly those focusing on the work of Paul Dirac.
