SUMMARY

The discussion centers on locating resources for calculating the deuteron quadrupole moment, specifically through trial wavefunctions. A recommended resource is the book "Theoretical Nuclear Physics" by Blatt & Weisskopf, which is noted for its reliability in the field of nuclear physics. Participants confirm that this text is available in college libraries, making it accessible for students and researchers alike.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of nuclear physics concepts
  • Familiarity with trial wavefunctions
  • Basic knowledge of quadrupole moments
  • Access to academic resources or libraries
NEXT STEPS
  • Research additional nuclear physics texts that cover quadrupole moments
  • Explore academic papers on deuteron properties and calculations
  • Investigate online databases for nuclear physics resources
  • Learn about advanced quantum mechanics techniques relevant to nuclear structure
USEFUL FOR

Students, researchers, and educators in nuclear physics, particularly those focusing on the properties of deuterons and related calculations.

I'm looking for some resources, as part of a project, where the deuteron quadrupole moment is worked out (from, say, trial wavefunctions). Could someone point me to such books/papers?

Try Blatt & Weisskopf, an old but reliable nuclear physics text.

Oh, Thanks. I was hoping that text has something... my college library has it.
