SUMMARY

The discussion centers on obtaining the three-dimensional velocity and position of Earth relative to the solar system's center of mass at specific times. The JPL's Horizon system is identified as the definitive resource for accessing this data. Users can visit the provided link, http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons.cgi, to retrieve similar information for other celestial bodies, including Mercury and the Moon.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of celestial mechanics
  • Familiarity with three-dimensional coordinate systems
  • Basic knowledge of astronomical data retrieval
  • Experience using web-based data tools
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the JPL's Horizon system for detailed celestial data
  • Research three-dimensional velocity calculations in astrophysics
  • Learn about the solar system's center of mass and its significance
  • Investigate other astronomical data sources for planetary positions

I would like to know the three dimensional velocity and position of the Earth with respect to the solar system center of mass at a few specific times. Similar data for the planet mercury and the moon would also be very helpful.

Is there a web cite that where I could find the data?

Thanks,

TCS
