The discussion revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a beloved pair of pull-on boots, which the original poster describes as comfortable and long-lasting. Despite extensive searching, including checking the garden and questioning the possibility of alien abduction or theft by pets, the boots remain missing. Participants engage in light-hearted banter, suggesting various humorous theories about the boots' fate, including neighborhood dogs stealing them and even references to fairy tales like Cinderella. The conversation touches on the frustration of losing personal items and the absurdity of the situation, with some jokingly proposing scientific methods for locating lost objects. Ultimately, the thread combines humor with a shared sense of loss over the missing boots, while exploring the quirks of everyday life and the mysteries that can arise from seemingly simple events.

Perhaps the barking deer got wind of their planned accidental death and ate your boots.
Divine justice! Yes! I love a conspiracy, especially when it involves animals that are too smart for their own good (and are potentially tasty). :-p

Did you wear them to visit anyone, and return home barefoot? Have any of your neighbors shown a real interest in your boots? Maybe one of them swiped them from your doorstep? Any roaming neighborhood dogs who might be digging holes to save them for later?

No Lisa, they were my bike boots, i have not worn them since.

I think it virtually impossible for an animal to get into my house and run of with my boots.

And no Moonb, i have not returned home bare-foot any time.

I think the MWI is a possibility, some sort of cross over.
