The discussion revolves around the revival of a "Best Songs Ever" thread, which was previously removed due to a DMCA request. Participants share their favorite songs and artists, with a notable mention of the Norwegian singer Sigrid, whose powerful performances have garnered significant admiration. Other artists discussed include Kendrick Lamar, KSHMR, and classic rock bands like Boston and Yes. The conversation touches on the emotional impact of music, with several users expressing their experiences of goosebumps during live performances. There is also a debate about the historical context of musical harmony and its evolution, alongside discussions of various genres, including rock, hip-hop, and electronica. The thread serves as a public jukebox for users to share and discover music, with a focus on both contemporary and classic tracks.

I saw Tommy Emmanuel in "the durian" in Singapore. I didn't know anything about him but figured if he was good enough to get a gig in the auditorium then he was good enough for me.

Nothing else quite like a Hammond with a Leslie. I heard this in real life only once, but it made a big impression on me.

They were SO heavy and fragile to carry around. Even Booker T gave up on them. But Lachy Doley is still carrying on.

The Leslie cannot be truly replaced by electronics, just like the piano. Too bad.

They sounded very British, Quadrophenia? Very surprised when I found out they were American.

Does anyone remember the child opera prodigy, little Jackie Evancho? It still blows me away to listen to her music from back then.

She's all grown up now and recently redid the old Joni Mitchell song, Both Sides Now.

Haha! Never even heard that song before.

So apparently Richard and or Karen were UFO buffs.

Freddie Mercury was an absolute phenomenon! And of course the lead guitarist for Queen, Brian May, is a huge favorite. After all, he went on to get his Ph.D. in AstroPhysics.

This was a legendary performance - go to the 2:50 mark

This is one of my favorite artists and I never knew it! I don't know how I managed to miss this guy. I loved his music and knew his name but never connected the two. Such a great sound!

I heard this song on the radio today and got very impressed by the vocal performance.
Particularly when she goes up the scale in the bridge and then in the chorus. This girl can sing .
And the lyrics are really bitter and rough, too .

I agree, 20 year old Olivia is quite good. After her initial success I was wondering if she might be a one album phenom but it looks like she might be around for a while. By coincidence I just ordered her new CD this morning.BTW, I love that Tommy Emmanuel clip further up the thread. Especially the part where he pulls the capo off the neck and chucks it.
