This way is pretty exciting:
Electrolysis is considered a permanent hair removal method because this technique destroys the hair follicle.

The technique, however, needs repeats and thus costly.
Ummm... This is a rather creative definition of "permanent" - the use of which I was not previously aware.

Hair grows in three phases (anagen, telogen, catagen). Laser hair removal only works against the currently growing hair (anagen). You need many more sessions to be able to fully destroy all the hair.

I don't like shaving, but don't like having a beard either. Bit of a conundrum, so I shave approx every three days...Often wonder if us hairy Caucasian lot aren't perhaps the least evolved of the races. Closer to the apes, ye ken?

Or perhaps the system was designed to maintain a balance [As in women got to have periods and we got beards and hairy arses...]

Interesting... I read the other day that a male partner will often neglect shaving for the few days that his female partner is menstrating. Thus, the guy in the office with the 3 day stubble, isn't getting any. Oooor, he's getting so much he's too tired to shave in the morning and it has nothing to do with his gf's menstration cycle. Oooor, there's a new baby in the house and he's not getting any and he's too tired to shave in the morning. I don't believe everything I read in Men's Health anyway, so you decide.

There was however a good article about growing the right facial hear for your face structure and it seems to work, from what I've seen. Round face - goatee, Square jaw - rough 3 day look, Anything else - clean shave. And never ever grow just a moustache, no matter how cool you think Magnum PI is.

I have a patchy beard (a couple of "bald" spots) so if I shave every day it looks fine, but if I miss a few days, I look a little dorky or like I decided to try some new shaving trend (like those muppets that shave those thin lines down their jaw line or stripes in their sideburns... here's your sign!)

The worst part of shaving for me is my top lip, if the razor is even slightly blunt it feels like i am pulling my eyeballs out.

It does look like him. He was a great inspiration, but I couldn't afford a Moog, so I got a ARP2600.
