Hi guys!

I bought a portable immersion water heater, it posses a hook on the heating element & on it i found a ground symbol. For heating purpose heating element is enough why the hook is given. This may look lil bit silly but i just want to know abt.

Well, until the OP clarifies things, here's something to 'bridge the gap'.

Well given the temperatures the heating element can get to, it wouldn't be a good idea to hang it on anything with it. (Think home alone and the door handle.)

So I'd hazard a guess that the hook is a way of hanging it without directly touching anything with the potentially scolding heating element.

That or it's some form of shop packaging for hanging it on a rack. In which case you probably want to remove it first.
