Why doesn't Microsoft Word support LaTeX code?

I tried MS's "insert equations", but i find that some LaTeX codes don't work and I have to manually click. Is there a faster way?

LaTeX code doesn't work in Word. Isn't that the point? :P

But MS's equation editor doesn't USE LaTeX. Obviously some LaTeX wouldn't work in Word's equation editor.

Exactly. Why should it? MS's EE (just to add confusion) isn't a code module built into Word (W), so why should LaTeX work with it?

MathType (Equation Editor's big brother which you have to buy separately) can export to the clipboard in LaTeX, which you can then paste into PF's editing window.

Because Word doesn't use Latex code. It has it's own language.

It's like asking why can't I run Visual Basic code in a Bash terminal.
