Why Tachyons Aren't Allowed in Physics Theory

Why NO tachyons ??

my question is why are Tachyons NOT allowed to exists in physical theories ??

they would be particles with speed faster than light.. is this the main reason ?? could be they detected someday in accelerators, how does Standard model of particles interact with Tachyons.

Who said there were no tachyons? As far as I know the existence of tachyons is an open question. The difficulty appears to be that if there were tachyons, we would have no way of detecting them. And some people assert that, for that reason, as far as our "universe" is concerned, they don't exist.
