The United States accepts that to avoid humiliating failure in Iraq it needs to bring its forces quickly under international control and speed the handover of power, Javier Solana, the European Union foreign policy chief, has said. Decisions along these lines will be made in the "coming days", Mr Solana told The Independent.

Ok, either someone in the Bush Administration has read Wesley Clark's new book and realized they were idiots, or this EU foreign policy chief, Solana, is smoking crack.

How likely do you think a moment of clarity is from this bunch of clowns? Even if Bush decides to do the right thing, it will be for campaign reasons, not because it is the right thing to do.

Not a bad idea...

Perhaps if they gave crack a quiet toke we might get some semblance of leadership and insight from that “holier than thou” bunch of Hawkish freaks. Freebasing the old cocaine might open the closed minds of an Administration determined to turn the world into a burnt-out shell.
(I’m just joking guys – Magic Mushies are the only drug I can think of that might make the criminals feel some remorse).
