The CAMPEP accredited Biomedical Physics program at UCLA has a great molecular imaging track. They have an entire institute (Crump institute) dedicated to molecular imaging, and all the powerhouses (and inventor) of PET still are around.
I shouldn't include this even if it explains my bad grades, shows its in the past, and won't occur again?
Also, I was sort of asking specifically about the "something as small as h" part. Is that tacky?
Hey all,
So I'm beginning my personal statement with an explanation as to why I received such bad marks in my first couple years, as well as why I chose the field I will pursue. Tell me if these first few lines is interesting or falls flat and tacky.
Uncertainty can be terrifying. Where...
Sorry to bump this again. I have a question about coulomb scattering. I may have done an experiment similar to OP. I measured scattering angle for MCS of muons through He filled spark chambers scattered by layers of Pb.
I'm alittle confused about the coulomb interaction. When mu minus particles...
Thanks for the reply! So how about for a complicated system like a guitar string, or the Tacoma Narrows bridge, or a wine glass with water in it.
Also, do you know of a textbook that covers the mathematical formulation of showing the natural frequency? Would it be in Marion and Thorton's...
What gives rise to natural frequency? Resonance is when an oscillating force has a frequency that matches the natural frequency of a system... but what gives rise to the natural frequency of the system?
Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has an idea of the rankings among CAMPEP accredited programs? Specifically, which programs are geared more towards students pursuing academia versus students pursuing clinic.
thanks
Hi all,
I'm trying to find the exact quote that I remember reading about a couple years ago. It was by some physicist who went in front of Congress (can't remember if it was the House or senate) and was asked why Congress should spend $200 million (I may be incorrect on the figure) to build a...
I'm a 4th year undergraduate physics major and I've realized too much of my college career have I just tried to get to the answer, copy example patterns, and look for a systematic way to solve problems. I realize this will get me nowhere; problem solving is where the physics fun is!
What sort...
My quantum professor, as an aside challenge, asked us if we could write a program in Matlab to factorize a 32 digit number into its prime number constituents. Can anyone direct me in the right direction to research how to do this?
thanks,
Greg
I'm preparing to teach myself to program with Matlab over the summer, and I'd like to know if there are books out there (I found some good general MATLAB introductory books) geared towards Quantum mechanics. There's a professor I'm trying to work with who works on quantum communications and lots...
We discussed this problem in class to some extent, and I'd just like to post it here so that I can continue the discussion on the conceptual physics of it as well as the algebra. I believe a lot can be learned from this problem.
"When an atom is placed in a uniform external electric field...
