Thank you for the update Robert, and I'm very sorry for the loss to you and your family. Paul was an amazing member here, with many many valuable posts. I hope you are okay with reading back through some of them to see how integral he was here at PF. You can see those posts by clicking on USER at the top right of the page, clicking on his username and then clicking on Postings. That will show you his posts in reverse time order. You can also do a forum Search (at the upper right of each page) and fill in his username.

He will be missed very much here, as I am sure he is missed by your family. My impression is that he has led a long and wonderful life, which is a good thing. RIP.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will go through these. It's been very touching seeing the effect he had on this community by its response in this moment. I'm fortunate to have a record of it in action. Thanks again.
Robert

Dear Robert,

My condolences to you and your family. He was a great contributor to the PF community.

We will miss him. I will miss his balloonology reference in his PF signature.

====================================================================

ONE FURTHER NOTE: My suggestion to Paul's family is to SECURE his site: phinds.com and decide what should remain public and what should be private.

Paul has posted many family pictures there that should be SAVED and kept PRIVATE.

Make a memorial of Paul's site in his honor.

Thank you very much for the thought. We have indeed secured the site and intend to maintain the wood related pages.
All the best,
Robert

I am saddened immensely by this news. Phinds and I both joined within a few months of each other and he was one of my favorite and most memorable members of this forum for the last 15 years. He will be missed greatly.

My condolences to the family. Could we at least have a picture of him during his happy days? That is the only way his memory can live on within us. Forever and ever! My thoughts and blessings!

We obviously can't post his picture because modern Google Images searches return all of his personal details, which is against PF privacy rules. Nice thought though. I miss him.

Noted, @berkeman. Is there a way to establish an award in the area of expertise of those profound members who have passed away? or a dedicated page... I believe that would be a true tribute to the fallen soldiers. It's sad that when someone dies, they are quickly forgotten; such is the nature of life.

Once passed, they receive a "sadly missed" badge.
