I want to know what would you say is the main difference between a Math Major and a Mathematician. I keep listening people using the terms as synonyms but I think that is not correct, or is it?

A math major is someone who has or is obtaining a bachelor's degree in mathematics.

A mathematician is someone who is employed to do mathematics or is publishing in mathematics journals.
 
This is my second year in college, and I changed my major to electrical engineering at the start of my second year. I'm taking Calc 1, and I know that I'm going to fail the course. I think there are several reasons for this.
