Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the challenges and possibilities for amateur researchers seeking to publish their work. Participants explore potential avenues for publication, the review process, and platforms for feedback on drafts.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Debate/contested, Meta-discussion

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses a desire to know how and where an amateur can propose an article for publication, indicating a sense of aspiration.
  • Another participant suggests that amateurs would need to undergo the same review process as professionals, implying that the quality of submissions is expected to be consistent regardless of the author's credentials.
  • A suggestion is made to consider the Independent Research forum as a potential platform for posting drafts and receiving feedback, with a link provided for reference.
  • A later reply acknowledges the suggestion about the Independent Research forum and indicates a willingness to try it once the participant's work is ready, emphasizing the importance of meeting the required conditions.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

How and where can an amateur like me hope to propose an article for the publication. Let me dream. Beside this, thanks for the help. Or tell me quickly if I only must stay in the neighborrough of my dreams.

I suppose there where pros publish. You'd have to go through the same review process though. M.Scs don't get to have more errors than PhDs in their articles either.

Have you looked at the Independent Research forum? That might be a good place to post a draft of your paper and get some feedback.

Until now I didn't try; but thanks for the suggestion; I think I shall try as soon as my work will be ready and corresponding to the imposed conditions... (so don't be in a hurry!)
