AI Thread Summary
Robert Ballard, the explorer known for discovering the Titanic in 1985, is embarking on a new underwater expedition to investigate the historical event of Noah's flood. He posits that the Black Sea, once a freshwater lake, was inundated by the Mediterranean Sea around 7,500 years ago, which he suggests may correlate with the biblical deluge. This timeline closely aligns with another participant's estimate of approximately 7,160 years ago. The discussion also references a separate thread regarding a theory on natural selection, indicating a broader interest in scientific theories and their implications.

"The explorer who discovered the Titanic beneath the Atlantic in 1985 is setting out on another underwater expedition to document Noah's flood. The Black Sea was originally a freshwater lake that in ancient times became inundated by the salty Mediterranean. Robert Ballard believes that this was a cataclysmic event that occurred about 7,500 years ago, and was possibly the deluge described in the Bible."

It's interesting he should come up with that date. Because it's very close to the date I came up with, about 7,160 years ago.

A Flaw in the Theory of Natural Selection?

In case anyone is interested, I've created a new thread, A Flaw in the Theory of Natural Selection?, which goes into more detail about my own theory above. Thanks!
