What is Electronic: Definition and 441 Discussions
Electronic warfare (EW) is any action involving the use of the electromagnetic spectrum (EM spectrum) or directed energy to control the spectrum, attack an enemy, or impede enemy assaults. The purpose of electronic warfare is to deny the opponent the advantage of, and ensure friendly unimpeded access to, the EM spectrum. EW can be applied from air, sea, land, and/or space by manned and unmanned systems, and can target communication, radar, or other assets (military and civilian).
Dumb question...but I don't know the answer.
Is there a way to determine if a piece of metal will cause electronic interference? Is it true only for ferric metals, or can any type of metal cause transmission problems?

I am the Lighting Designer for a production of 'As You Like It' and have been asked to find a way to create a realistic firefly effect.
From my research, Fireflys have a dominant wavelength of 570 nanometers. They fade on quickly, pulse (a very fast fade on and off) at a rate between 2.5 and...
Q1. A 10,000 Micro Farad capacitor has an asymmetric tolerance specification of +20%/-50% What is the possible range of values for this capacitor?
How do I do this problem ?
Q2. A 15-bit A/D converter has V(full scale) = 10 V. what is the value of the LSB> If the input voltage is 6.83 V...
I ony know how to explain the anomality of Cr and Cu's electronic configurations.
And in the assignments, I am asked the following:
(a) For Rh: Why not [Kr]4d7 5s2 but [Kr] 4d8 5s1
(b) For Ir: Why not [Xe]4f14 5d8 6s1 but [Xe] 4f14 5d7 6s2
Can someone give a brief explanation...
I NEED A DATASHEET OR LIST OF ABOUT 50 EACH OF RESISTANCES, DIODES, CAPACITORS, ZENER DIODES AND ICs WITH SPECIFICATIONS LIKE VOLTAGE, CURRENT AND POWER RATING, COMMONLY USED IN ELECTRONICS LABORATORY OF COLLEGE LEVEL
I NEED IT URGENTLY WITHIN 12 HOURS
I want to use a 50-pin cable to ignite e-matches connected to fireworks. The e-matches require about 1 Amp to ignite. The individual conducting wires in the cable are obviously very thin, and thus can't conduct a continuous 1 Amp current. My question though is this: can the very thin conducting...
hi can anyone please help me
I came across this statement "Since we only consider the electronic ground state of the system, there can be no net force or torque acting upon the subsystem of classically behaving nuclei". Can anyone explain what this means?
Hi! Now I am doing an undergraduate program in molecular and biological physics.
At the graduate stage I would like to take part in research in the area of modern scientific instruments like electronic microscopes and nuclear magnetic resonance tomographs/spectroscopes.
I know there are...
Ok magnetoes are fine buit expensive to keep in A1 condition, so i want to convert to electronic, i have the means to manufacture the body to hold the new mechanism, and guess i can tailor it to fit some prop trigger mechanism
for the LT, the problem is a control for maping the required...
Hi,
I was wondering, if the Schroedinger equation implies a continuous evolution of the state vector, then how does Bohr's theory of electron's discontinuous jumps between energy states fit in? Conversely, if an electron 'jumps' from one state to another with nothing intermediate, then how...
My electronic class is almost over, <thank god>. Unfortunately, I have what I call a "barnes n' noble" book. You know when you walk into barnes n noble and you go to the science section and you see a bunch of math/physics/engineering books. You always pick one up to see what's inside, but you...
3 x 15Ohm resistor (R) and 3 x 3.83 mH reactors (L) are connected in different ways across a 500V, 3 phase line. without drawing a phasor diagram, calculate the line current for each of the following connections:
a. R and L in series, connected in wye
b. R and L in parallel, connected in...
I was debating on another forum about EM Pulse (yes, I just watched War of the World :tongue2: ).
Anyway, does anyone know exactly what electrical components will be damaged by an EMP?
I know silicon chips would be dead, but what about capactors, diodes, resistors, etc.
Also, if a cars...
Hello everybody,I am from China, and I majored in mechanic and electronic in a college. now I want to devotee myself to physic. Anybody experienced,do you think it is possible and wish you some advice.
Thanks for reply,my e-mail is daifeili@163.com:rofl:

for the following circuit find and draw V(out) if the V(in) signal is a sine wave with amplitude of 10V (Consider all diodes to be ideal)
This is the problem , could anyone please solve it 4 me ?:?:

It's a well known fact from Quantum Mechanics that electrons exist in fixed, quantised energy states. Also, when they move from one energy level to another, they emit or absorb the energy as required by \triangle E . Also, if a particular photon is absorbed , the apprpriate transition takes...
Does anyone know some good quality kits and where I can order/get them. You know, the type of kit that has like over 75 projects. My budget it around $200, but that could change.
--thank you.
Hello all! I study electronic engineering, i want really to be an active memeber at this forum, but how could i get a benefit of this forum!
If I wanted to ask about PCB or attach an eagle layout file for some correcting or for take advise from some memebers, would that be possible...
Hi could anyone give me some informaiton on Electronic Voice Phenomena? (EVP)
Thanks
Is it a hoax? What are the possible explanations for it? Could it hypothetically be paranormal?
Thanks
Could those chips which they can put in the brains of quadripletics (sorry, spelling mistake probably) which allow them to move objects by having an electronic device read their thoughts be used in other people (At a cost) for example those who wish to improve their relationships with others or...
Hey, i need to give in my personal statement tomorrow, it's really urgent  , so if anyone wants to have a look at it i'll pm it very quickly...
THANX :!)
If you have access to the Science journal, do not miss the Review article written by Elbio Dagotto in the latest issue (July 8, 2005)[1]. This is the most concise article on THE major issue in condensed matter physics today.

Hey people, been getting very annoyed for the past few hours over this one been looking through all my textbooks and all over the net but can't find a decent explanation of dwell time. Here's my question, Explain dwell time in the context of electronic ignition systems (non-contact breaker...
I am currently in first year engineering. I am doing a project on electronic fuel injection. The project requires as much physics incorporation as possible.
I am just wondering if there is anybody who has some advise or ideas for me as far as "the physics of electronic fuel injection."...
Hey guys!
Easy poll: Whn doing research for reports and papers, do you guys prefer Paperback journals or the electronic form??
I've just started doing proper research for projects and I really prefer the paperback type. It's so much more comforting to have something substantial in front of...
There's a new horror movie coming out called "White Noise" (which actually does look kinda scary). Central to the story is Electronic Voice Phenomenon, where a tape or video recorder captures supposed voices or images from dead people. Being a skeptic, I find it hard to accept that EVP...
hi this question is to do with electronic structure.
What is special about the arrangement of helium, neon and argon?
Please help because i really don't know!
An electron starts at the position (0,0) with an initial velocity 5,000,000 m/s at 45 degrees angle to the x axis. THe electric field is in the positive y direction and has a magnitude of 35000 N/C. At what location will the electron strikes?
Please help me setup this problem.

I was day dreaming in my math class agian and somehow got thinking about binary and if instead of Trues's and falses or 0's and 1's
it where to be soemthign like 0's 1's 2's 3's and 4's like an example
0 would be = to the binary pair 00
and 1= 01
3=10
4=11
