Finding Absolute Permeability from Magnetization
Homework Statement I am doing a project for which I am learning some aspects of electromagnetism by myself, so you can imagine how lost I am. Well, not completely: I was searching for a ferrite with high permeability as a core material. I learned how the octahedral and tetrahedral sites and the...- SuccessTheory

Why permeability equal to unity?
I apologize if this is not in the correct section of the forum, but it seems most fitting. In the context of dielectric materials, I am having trouble understanding why in the discussion of the optical properties of magnetized bodies, it is justifiable to assume for light vibrations...- iLIKEstuff

PH effects on membrane permeability
I had this lab done where we took beets and tested the effects of pH on membrane permeability. We used different concentrations of HCl and NaOH. Why did I get such a strong colour intensity with a test tube that had 0.001 M NaOH? And how do I know this experiment affected the protein...- scarling

Negative Permeability Metamaterials: Explaining Stop Band Mechanism
Metamaterial structures such as split ring resonators exist such that at their resonant frequency, a stop band occurs, and are effectively therefore opaque to electromagnetic radiation at those frequencies. Could anyone explain this mechanism?- hsuominen

Permeability of free space question
Hi everyone, Been doing some reading on permeability lately... My question is would the permeability of free space (u0) be related in any way to the vacuum energy density or would it remain the same regardless (4PIx10-7)? For eg would u0 be lower inside the space between the Casimir plates...- captpaul101@hotmail.com

Permeability of various material to Radon gas
Has anybody done testing on how well various materials can prevent the passage of Radon gas? For example, a container made of thin low density plastic will apparently gradually permeate out Radon, but a high density plastic container will not. Other materials I have in mind are rubber...- ChrisLeslie

Permittivity and Permeability of Free Space
Permittivity of a vacuum is a number arrived at beginning with a value for the speed of light in the vacuum and the permeability of the vacuum. NIST uses the term "electric constant" for what is commonly known as the permittivity of free space: Here's their official value...- Hetware
