Huh?

Physics news on Phys.org
We got several from 2014-2015 that didn't appear before.

Tip of the hat --- hadn't checked the time stamps.

Can't harm seeing more of what we got :)
Greetings Greg,
I'm replying to this because I don't know a better to get your attention.
When someone replies to a post by X you see "X said and an up arrow." It would be most helpful if if the post by X was given its number, so it would be easy to find. In long threads like the blue eyed one it's almost impossible to find.

You can click on the arrow.

A new thread would have been a better place for an independent question.

Thanks, I had no idea.
Your right, but I didn't know how to address staff.

How diddn't those unanswered threads appear before and what did you change in the system? I'm just asking out of curiosity. Did you delete the courtesy bumps?

The bumps are still in place and the function was added early last year. I extended the range of which the list looks back. What you see now are threads older than the bump function.

Since the courtesy bump subject come up, may I ask you what functions do they have?

Bumps the thread if no reply is given after 7 days

One of the effects is that it gives regular posters a second chance to consider the thread. There are many times that I just hover over a new thread title to see what the first sentence or two are, and think to myself, "that's something I can leave for others to reply to". But if it comes up again a few days later with the only reply from Greg, I usually will click into the thread to see if I can offer a useful reply.
