Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the search for a pressure relief valve that activates at 5 psi, with specific size constraints (100 x 40 x 40 mm). Participants share product suggestions and experiences related to sourcing such a valve.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant, Andy, initiates the discussion by seeking recommendations for a 5 psi pressure relief valve that meets specific size requirements.
  • Another participant provides a link to a search engine as a response, suggesting that the information can be easily found online.
  • A participant mentions Generant as a manufacturer of small, low-pressure relief valves and provides a link to their website.
  • Andy expresses gratitude for the suggestion and identifies a specific model (VRVI-250B-N-5) as potentially suitable, although he is uncertain about the seals.
  • Another participant reiterates the suggestion to use a search engine, but Andy clarifies that he had already searched extensively without success and appreciates the community's input.
  • A participant suggests checking Grainger for two 5 psi relief valves that are smaller than the specified size and reasonably priced.
  • The same participant notes that the thread size and angle of the Grainger options do not meet Andy's requirements, emphasizing the preference for an inline valve due to size and suitability.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants provide various suggestions and experiences, but there is no consensus on a single solution that meets all requirements. Multiple options are discussed, reflecting differing preferences and needs.

Contextual Notes

Some participants express uncertainty about specific product details, such as seal compatibility and suitability based on size and design. The discussion does not resolve these uncertainties.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals seeking low-pressure relief valves, particularly those with specific size constraints or unique application requirements, may find this discussion relevant.

Hi there.

I've been scouring google for a valve that will release a fluid (preferably a liquid) once 5psi has been reached. It must be within 100 x 40 x 40mm (the smaller the better). Has anyone any idea where to find a product like this?

Many thanks.
Andy

Generant makes some very small, low pressure RV's.

Thanks a bunch Q Goest! The VRVI is exactly what I needed! VRVI-250B-N-5 (not really sure on seals) seems best choice. Now to find pricing...!

Let me google that for you.

Thanks Mech Engineer. Followed your link, but having searched more than 20 sites with no result prior to this (with the same search), I decided to stop wasting time when there are so many people out there with a great knowledge and know exactly where to go.
Thanks for your effort.

PS like the quotes you have! :)

So how about either of the first two results from Grainger? They're 5 psi relief valves, smaller than your size requirement, and only cost about $50.

The thread size & 90° angle was not suited for my requirements. An inline vrv was the best option due to size and suitability. Thanks for your help.
