Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the search for software applications that facilitate the drawing of Feynman diagrams, focusing on usability and quality of output. Participants share their experiences with various tools and express curiosity about available options, particularly for Windows and LaTeX.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant mentions FeynMF as a LaTeX package that produces high-quality diagrams but is not user-friendly and not available for Windows.
  • Another participant suggests JaxoDraw as a Windows application for drawing Feynman diagrams, noting that it requires Java Runtime to be installed.
  • A participant points out that the thread is six years old, indicating a potential lack of recent information.
  • There are inquiries about easy-to-use Feynman diagram applications for LaTeX, with one participant recommending the Axodraw package, stating it is the basis for JaxoDraw.
  • Additional suggestions include using FeynArts if Mathematica is available and mentioning a class in ROOT for diagram drawing.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants express differing opinions on the usability and quality of various software options, with no consensus on a single best application for drawing Feynman diagrams.

Contextual Notes

Some tools mentioned may have specific system requirements or dependencies, such as Java Runtime for JaxoDraw, and the discussion does not resolve which software is definitively the best choice.

Hi,
I'm seeking for a software, witch will alow me to easily draw Feynman diagrams.
I have currently found:

FeynMF: LaTeX package. Not very nice to use, but very good quality diagrams
FeynmanDraw: Very primitive WIN software. Not fine diagrams.
FeynDiagram: C++ source for drawing. Complicated and not so fine diagrams.

Meanwhile the best is FeynMF, althouth it is NOT a WIN application.

Isn't it any good WIN application for frawing fine Feynman diagrams ?

(Please, do not mention Photoshop, Paintshop and etc.)

you can use jaxodraw which is a win application for drawing feynman diagrams.
before using that u shoud have installed javaruntime on your system.

Now it's up again, I'm also quite curious: are there decent, easy-to-use Feynman diagram applications for LaTeX?

just try the axodraw package http://www.nikhef.nl/~t68/axodraw/

this is what jaxodraw is based on!

If you have mathematica, you can use FeynArts

If you have ROOT, there is such class which you can use
