AI Thread Summary
Axial force significantly impacts drill bits by contributing to the axial load on the spindle they are mounted on. It also affects the buckling of long and slender drill bits, which can lead to structural failures. Additionally, the axial force is crucial for the axial advancement of the drill bit into the workpiece. Understanding these effects is essential for optimizing drilling performance and preventing damage. Proper management of axial force is vital for effective drilling operations.

Hi,
I just wanted to know what is the effect of axial force on drill bit?
does it amount to the axial load on the spindle to which it may be mounted?

yes.
but other effect of the same is on buckling of long and slender drill bits.
apart, its reaction is responsible for the axial advance of the same inside th work

Here's a video by “driving 4 answers” who seems to me to be well versed on the details of Internal Combustion engines. The video does cover something that's a bit shrouded in 'conspiracy theory', and he touches on that, but of course for phys.org, I'm only interested in the actual science involved. He analyzes the claim of achieving 100 mpg with a 427 cubic inch V8 1970 Ford Galaxy in 1977. Only the fuel supply system was modified. I was surprised that he feels the claim could have been...
