I want to do a specialisation in Nanotechnology, so could you please tell me about some good institutes in India and US.

I have a good frien from INDIA (electrical engineer) who is doing his phd on MOSFET device structures (MugFet's) here at IMEC [1]. It really depends on what exactly you want to do. I suggest you check out the possible phd topics here at IMEC. For example are you into metal gate high k-stuff, carbon nanotubes and CNT-transistors, reliability, ?

I don't think there is any institute in India offering a degree(MSc-level) in nanotech but there are few offering a PhD programme in nanotechnology(again depends on your area of interest because Nanotechnology is a very vast field ).
IIT-Guwahati has a PhD programme I believe. Check out this link.
