Bypass capacitor between power and ground

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the use of a bypass capacitor in circuits involving PIC microcontrollers. It is established that adding a bypass capacitor between the power supply and ground is essential for stabilizing voltage levels and filtering out noise, rather than causing a short circuit. The reference to HyperPhysics provides additional context on capacitor charging and discharging behavior, reinforcing the importance of this component in electronic design.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of bypass capacitors and their role in electronic circuits
  • Familiarity with PIC microcontrollers and their power requirements
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and voltage stabilization
  • Concept of noise filtering in electronic systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specifications and types of bypass capacitors suitable for PIC microcontrollers
  • Learn about capacitor placement and its impact on circuit performance
  • Explore noise reduction techniques in electronic circuit design
  • Study the charging and discharging characteristics of capacitors using resources like HyperPhysics
USEFUL FOR

Electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists working with PIC microcontrollers, and engineers designing stable power supply circuits will benefit from this discussion.

Hi forum!
So I was trying to learn how to use PIC
In the tutorial, they said I should add a bypass capacitor between power supply and ground.
But will the whole thing shorted out because of this connection? Why or why not?
