SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the feasibility of using a vacuum tank to extract well water. Abdulla Haneef emphasizes that for effective water flow, the inlet must not exceed 10 meters above the outlet, as this height equates to the pressure of the surrounding air. Additionally, to facilitate water extraction, the outlet must be positioned below the water level in the lower tank, and a method to eliminate the vacuum is necessary for optimal performance.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic fluid dynamics principles
  • Familiarity with vacuum technology
  • Knowledge of water pump mechanics
  • Experience with pressure differentials in fluid systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the design and operation of vacuum pumps
  • Study the principles of fluid dynamics related to water flow
  • Explore methods for creating and maintaining a vacuum in tanks
  • Learn about the construction and specifications of effective water pumps
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, DIY enthusiasts, and anyone interested in water extraction techniques, particularly those exploring innovative pumping solutions using vacuum technology.

If you want the water to flow into the tank, the inlet should be no more than about 10 meters above the outlet, because a column of water of that height will have the same pressure as the air pressure. To get water out of the tank you better have a way to make the vacuum disappear.

No to get water to flow the outlet from the tap needs to be below the water level in the lower tank.
