Can you cut a monocrystalline solar cell in half?

Do you know if you can cut this mono crystalline solar cell in half:

No. The minute you cut something like this (unless you have access to high end laser cutting) you will short the substrate and the cell will be useless. When you see pictures of the cell you are looking at a huge magnified diagram. Actual distances are microns and your cutting across them will literally short your system out.
