MHB Compute the grade point average (GPA)

Click For Summary
To compute the GPA, the weighted average formula is applied using the grades and corresponding credit hours. The grades A, C, A, A, and B translate to quality points of 4, 2, 4, 4, and 3, respectively. The calculation involves multiplying each grade's quality points by its credit hours, resulting in a total of 41 quality points. The total credit hours sum to 14, leading to a GPA of approximately 2.93 when rounded to two decimal places. This method effectively demonstrates how to calculate GPA using weighted averages.

a student earned grades of A, C, A, A, and B. Those courses had these corresponding numbers. of credit hours:1,6,3,1,3. The grading system assigns quality points to letter grades as follows: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and F=0. Compute the grade point average (GPA) and round the result to two decimal places

Hello, and welcome to MHB! (Wave)

What you want to use here is a weighted average:

$$\text{GPA}=\frac{1(4)+6(2)+3(4)+1(4)+3(3)}{1+6+3+1+3}=\frac{41}{14}\approx2.93$$

Does that make sense?

Good morning I have been refreshing my memory about Leibniz differentiation of integrals and found some useful videos from digital-university.org on YouTube. Although the audio quality is poor and the speaker proceeds a bit slowly, the explanations and processes are clear. However, it seems that one video in the Leibniz rule series is missing. While the videos are still present on YouTube, the referring website no longer exists but is preserved on the internet archive...
