Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the capabilities of real-time graphics rendering in computer graphics, specifically using the Unity engine. Participants express their impressions of the graphical quality and performance, comparing it to pre-rendered graphics and discussing hardware requirements.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • Some participants express surprise that the graphics are generated in real-time rather than pre-rendered.
  • There are claims about the impressive nature of the graphics being generated on the fly.
  • One participant questions the hardware capabilities necessary to maintain a constant 60fps during such advanced graphics rendering.
  • Another participant suggests that significant advancements in PC hardware will be needed to run these graphics smoothly in the future.
  • A comparison is made to the game Crysis, speculating on what it might look like with such advanced graphics.
  • One participant simply expresses enthusiasm with a positive remark.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the impressive nature of the graphics, but there is uncertainty regarding the hardware requirements and performance capabilities, indicating multiple views on the feasibility of running such graphics smoothly.

Contextual Notes

The discussion lacks specific details about the hardware used for the benchmark and does not clarify the exact performance metrics achieved during the test.

I thought this was pre-rendered, but it's a real-time benchmark using the unity engine.

That's pretty impressive for being generated on the fly.

I'm not sure what hardware this test was ran on, but I doubt it was able to maintain a constant 60fps.

It will take at least several future generations of PC hardware before it's possible to smoothly run such crazy advanced graphics.

This is what the game Crysis would look like if it ever grew up.

awesome!
