Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on controlling the Horiba T64000 Raman spectrometer using LabVIEW, specifically through the use of ActiveX containers. Users are encouraged to explore existing resources on the Horiba and National Instruments (NI) websites for predefined Virtual Instruments (VIs) that may facilitate this integration. The inquiry highlights the need for practical examples and tips for beginners unfamiliar with the setup process.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW programming environment
  • Understanding of ActiveX technology
  • Basic knowledge of Raman spectroscopy principles
  • Access to Horiba T64000 documentation and resources
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to implement ActiveX containers in LabVIEW
  • Explore existing VIs for the Horiba T64000 on the NI website
  • Learn about interfacing LabVIEW with external hardware
  • Investigate troubleshooting techniques for LabVIEW and spectrometer integration
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for photonics researchers, LabVIEW developers, and anyone involved in the integration of spectroscopic instruments with software for data acquisition and analysis.

Hello! How are you? I am working in the photonics Lab in my university and I was wondering if has anyone ever tried to controll the horiba spectrometer T64000 with Labview. I know there is a way to do that with activx container. I was just wondering if that works. If it does, do you have any examples of VIs or tips to do that? I have no idea about where to start.

Welcome to the PF.

What have you found at the Horiba and NI websites? Is there a VI already defined for that instrument?
