Converting Degrees to Radians on a TI-83+

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The conversion of degrees to radians on a TI-83+ calculator can be achieved using the formula: 120 degrees / 180 degrees x π radians. This calculation results in approximately 2.09333 radians. Users should input the formula directly into the calculator to obtain the correct answer. Understanding that π radians corresponds to 180 degrees is crucial for accurate conversions.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of trigonometric functions
  • Familiarity with the TI-83+ calculator interface
  • Knowledge of the relationship between degrees and radians
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations on the calculator
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to input fractions and π on the TI-83+
  • Learn about the conversion between degrees and radians in trigonometry
  • Explore additional trigonometric functions on the TI-83+
  • Study the significance of radians in calculus and physics
USEFUL FOR

Students, educators, and anyone using a TI-83+ calculator for trigonometric calculations will benefit from this discussion.

Hi guys, ok 120 degrees / 180 degrees x Pie radians = 2.09 Radians

Thats the problem, and the answer Question is how do get that answer on My TI-83+

The question is: what is 120 deg. in radians? 180 degrees is [itex]\pi[/itex] radians so:

[tex]120\deg = \frac{120}{180}\pi = 2.09333 \text{ radians}[/tex]

Oh i get it, the way its written out on the paper made me think a radian wasnt just a title but a special key. thanks
