Homework Statement

I don't have a specific question, but I try to calculate very easy on a simple Gokart in a project. I try to figure out if there is a way to approximately determine what the damping ability of rubber wheels is because I don't have any suspension on it.

Homework Equations

I don't know about any. I know that if there is a suspension/spring, I can use Hooke's law. I'm not sure what to do for the rubber wheels...

The Attempt at a Solution

Can you set up a test in which you drop a rubber tired wheel onto a flat surface and record elevation of the center as a function of time? From this data, you should be able to make a log decrement calculation that gives the damping factor. It will be approximate, and you may need to repeat the experiment with several different tires to find an average, but it will be reality based information.
