Do brain cells emit beta wave frequencies?

does the brain send out signals or frequencies. I believe i recall hearing about something like beta waves perhaps it was. Someone know of this?

The electric activity of the brain does cause the emissions of electrogmagnetic waves. I think there is even a correlation between certain brain activities (reading, watching, etc) and certain types of emissions (amplitute, frequency etc). There should be a lot of info of this online.
