AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the absurdity and wastefulness of certain kitchen gadgets, particularly the inside-the-shell egg scrambler. Participants criticize this product for being unnecessary and ineffective, arguing that it produces inferior scrambled eggs compared to traditional methods that involve whisking eggs with milk or water to achieve fluffiness. There is a strong sentiment against the environmental impact of such gadgets, highlighting the energy and resources wasted in their production and eventual disposal. The conversation also touches on other silly products, like the Banana Guard, which is deemed excessive for its purpose of protecting bananas, and the iSmell device, which failed to gain traction due to its impracticality. Overall, the thread critiques the trend of convenience-driven products that offer little real value while contributing to waste.

They're marketing the Banana Guard for kids. It wasn't too long ago you had to be at least 21 and married to purchase something like this and it came only in a brown paper bag.

I collect all my mail in a brown paper bag, what would the neighbors think if they say you carrying raw mail into your home? Where I live it would be all over town the next day.
