Hello friends
Can anyone tell me the effective mass of electron in polyethylene and how it depends on the crystalline nature of polymer.

To say not exactly: effective mass describes the effects of all the internal forces exerted on an electron in a crystal.

Is there any average value defined for polyethylene .

I didn't know that in polyethylene you have mobile charge carriers at all. It is a very good insulator.

That's true ,but very small leakage current flows at high field ratings (KV/mm) .For that i want effective mass.
