Electric Grid Question -- Elevated Transmission Lines

Hi,
Our teacher gave to us an homework which is if we carry transmission lines at 20000 m (20km) high from Earth face, what is this application's benefits and harms? Can anyone help me? Already thanks for your replies...

Physics news on Phys.org
I can certainly think of a couple harms.

Planes would hit them destroying plane, lines and people.

Millions of dollars if not billions of wasted money in super tall towers to carry wires this high. And we all know money is the bottom line with just about anything.

This thought is already utopian but this is only a homework :) Do you have any document for this issue or do you recommend a site name which I can find it.
