Estimate vs contrast statements clarification

Hi,

I have been reading SAS docs regarding the code for these two, but I cannot seem to really understand the key difference between them, they almost seem interchangeable to me, although obviously they are not. What is the key difference between the contrast and estimate statement and how do you know when to use one over the other?

I'm not sure if you read this yet, but it gives you a good overview how these two things are used in SAS.
