SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on the exercises from Roger Penrose's book, "The Road to Reality." Participants express interest in collaboratively working through the exercises, with one user mentioning they have read up to Chapter 13. Another user, currently enrolled in an Electrodynamics course using Jackson's text, notes the challenge of balancing time for both studies. The conversation highlights the need for an organized forum to facilitate discussion and problem-solving among interested readers.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with Roger Penrose's "The Road to Reality"
  • Basic understanding of Electrodynamics concepts
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques in advanced physics
  • Experience with collaborative learning platforms
NEXT STEPS
  • Organize a dedicated forum for discussing "The Road to Reality" exercises
  • Explore collaborative study techniques for complex subjects
  • Research effective time management strategies for balancing multiple advanced courses
  • Investigate additional resources or study guides related to Electrodynamics
USEFUL FOR

Students of physics, particularly those studying advanced topics like Electrodynamics, and anyone interested in engaging with Roger Penrose's work through collaborative exercises.

Is anybody doing the exercises in Roger Penrose's book, "The Road to Reality".

Mathematics news on Phys.org
I bought the book a few weeks ago. I've been meaning to do some of the exercises. I've read up to Chapter 13 or so, but I should probably back up a few chapters and do problems.

Edited to add:

However, I'm taking Electrodynamics this quarter, using Jackson's text, so I may be too busy. Who knows.

It's very good but maybe overly comprehensive with the size and all. Haven't had a chance to read in full but from what I read here and there(library copy, a friend recommended it) I appreciated the style and exposition.

Shaun, you around?

Is anyone else interested in working through this book in an organized fashion?

Hi Ben Niehoff,

Yes, I am interested. Maybe, I or somebody else could set up a forum for a few people genuinely interested in the exercises. Please post any more ideas.
