Hello everyone,

I’m delighted to join this community! My name is Shan Gao, and I’m a philosopher of physics with a deep interest in the foundations of quantum mechanics. I’m currently a professor at Shanxi University in China, where I work at the Research Center for Philosophy of Science and Technology. My research focuses on unraveling the mysteries of quantum reality, particularly through exploring the interpretation of the wave function.

One of my key contributions to the field is my book, *The Meaning of the Wave Function: In Search of the Ontology of Quantum Mechanics* (CUP, 2017), where I propose ideas like the "random discontinuous motion of particles" to shed light on the nature of quantum phenomena. I’m also the founding editor of the *International Journal of Quantum Foundations*, a platform dedicated to advancing discussions in this fascinating domain.

I’m excited to connect with others here, share insights, and engage in thought-provoking conversations about the universe and beyond. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Best regards,
Shan Gao

Since we don't do philosophy. We DO have section on interpretations of QM that you might find interesting.

Thank you! Glad to know there is a section on interpretations of QM.

Hello fellow Physics enthusiasts, I am an aeronautical engineering graduate (Bachelor's) who is interested in Physics and Mathematics, and I have been re-learning all the basics. I wanted to join a science forum, especially one dedicated to Physics and maths, to apply these subjects to my engineering studies. I hope to learn a lot through this forum. Thank you for your warm welcome.
