Finding a 1.5 GHz Line Amplifier for RG59 Coaxial Cable Loss

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on finding a line amplifier schematic that operates at 1.5 GHz to compensate for signal loss in RG59 coaxial cable. The suggested solution involves using MMICs from Mini-Circuits, specifically the GAL1 model, which requires minimal additional components (two or three) for effective implementation. The conversation emphasizes the simplicity and efficiency of this approach for enhancing signal integrity in RF applications.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of RF signal amplification
  • Familiarity with RG59 coaxial cable specifications
  • Knowledge of MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) technology
  • Basic electronics skills for assembling amplifier circuits
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specifications and application notes for the Mini-Circuits GAL1 MMIC
  • Explore additional line amplifier designs for different frequency ranges
  • Learn about coaxial cable loss calculations and mitigation techniques
  • Investigate other MMIC options for RF amplification in similar applications
USEFUL FOR

RF engineers, hobbyists designing communication systems, and anyone involved in signal processing and amplification using coaxial cables.

Hello. I 'm looking for a line amplifier schematics working around 1.5 GHz to compensate coaxial ( RG59/CU) loss behind a L.N.A

Engineering news on Phys.org
do some googling on MMIC's from Mini-circuits eg the GAL1
dead simple with one device and 2 or 3 other components
