Need help with gravity distance acceleration problem0--equation

So I basically need an equation to give me time form the following variables:
initial velocity or v
acceleration or a
distance or x

i'm having a hard time with a rock being dropped taking 1.5 seconds to go half the distance, what about the whole time it will take..thanks

Welcome to Physics Forums kill_shot.

Before we can help you, you'll need to list the equations you know about and make an attempt at a solution.

There are 3 or 4 standard equations for this type of problem. Every physics textbook that deals with this stuff uses them. Start by looking at those equations.
