The room had new carpets installed and its a bit too long as a result it's hard to close the door. What can I do to make the door easier to close?
To resolve the issue of a door not closing properly after carpet installation, the recommended solution is to plane the door. This involves removing the door, marking the area to be shaved, and using a planing tool to reduce the door's height until it closes easily. An alternative method includes using a circular saw to cut the door if it is inexpensive or if a planing tool is unavailable. Care must be taken to ensure straight cuts and to finish the edges with a wood file or sandpaper.
