Fundamentals of physics(resnick and halliday) numericals

AI Thread Summary
To improve problem-solving skills in physics, particularly with "Fundamentals of Physics" by Halliday and Resnick, it's recommended to read the textbook thoroughly and attempt to solve the problems after completing each chapter. While the book is comprehensive, some users find the problems challenging and may struggle with the approach. Seeking additional resources or textbooks that focus on problem-solving techniques in physics can be beneficial. Engaging with supplementary materials and practicing consistently is essential for developing a stronger grasp of the concepts and enhancing problem-solving abilities.

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
