Yeah. Pretty lame, huh? Still, it beats the hell out of solitaire majong. I'd like to find a game that has more interactivity, but is still turn-based since I have physical limitations that rule out real-time playing.
As for Adventure Quest, I'm a level 90 human, sub-species Werepyre. I have my level 10 (maximum allowed) in Rogue, Pirate, Martial Artist, Knight, Ninja, Beastmaster, etc., with a few more pending.

Aye, but you're probably playing real Mah-jongg as opposed to the solitaire version. The real thing is essentially Oriental poker (with no racist intent in the terminology) whereas the solitaire version is simply matching patterns to eliminate them until there is nothing left.

I can attest to the amount of time that online gaming can occupy. For me, it was World of Warcraft shortly after its launch. There have others, but this one was the worst for me.

Thanks Danger. I still post in the eng forums but not so much in here; and real life takes up more time now than it did when I joined. I don't think I have the patience to be a teacher; I'm happy explaining something once but if it doesn't sink in then I have a problem!

The runner is still in the secure compound of the friend that I willed it to. If I ever get enough money to do something with it, I will. Otherwise, it's up to him.

Ha, a game! Okay, yeah, I've gotten myself addicted to a silly online game (a silly one on Facebook no less, so not even a real game...it's all Hypatia's fault) and it does cut into time for other stuff, but I play the one I play for the same reason you play the one you do, that I can just stop if I get tired or run out of time or have other things to do, and nothing's going to go anywhere.

I'm just glad to hear from you again. But, not so glad to hear you're struggling more with your health to the point of needing a walker now. Do you have any possibility of a lung transplant if you can get yourself to quit smoking?

I suppose that it's possible. By pure chance, I ran into a fellow who actually moved here from Saskatoon, with the same condition, for the specific purpose of getting a transplant. He urged me to apply for such, since his went very well.

I've had 4 cousins die of cystic fibrosis (including the first person in Canada to have a double lung transplant) and have encountered other people with respiratory issues through no fault of their own. My hardship is self-imposed, due to starting to smoke 39 years ago. If I could get a transplant with the absolute guarantee that I wasn't depriving someone else of the organs, I would take it. Otherwise, I would prefer that they go to someone more worthy.

If you can quit smoking, then go for it. My parents have a friend who had a lung transplant for emphysema back when I was still a teenager. Part of the conditions of the transplant was for her to quit smoking, and she did. Even after the transplant, she has needed portable oxygen, but she's such a wonderful person that I'm glad she got a second chance in life. Every opportunity she gets, she tries to help out others for the second chance she got. I remember back many years ago going out gambling with her and her husband and my mom and step-dad (that's the only vice she has left), and she won several thousand on a slot machine jackpot. For no particular reason, she turned around and just gave half of it to a random stranger who just happened to talk with her while they were playing (she kept the other half to pay for her medications). In spite of your nickname being "Danger," you're really such a kind-hearted person that I know you'd do good things with an extension to your life that would fully justify being the recipient of a transplant.

Actually, I've joked with my boyfriend about that. He asks why I want to be with him when he's such an a*******. I tell him that in spite of his best efforts, he isn't an a******, but he was when I first met him and has mellowed with age.
