AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the correct dosage and understanding of melatonin and iodine supplements. The recommended dose for melatonin is one dropper at bedtime, with each dropper containing 3 mg. There is confusion regarding the term "dropper," as it can refer to the entire dropper tool rather than just a single droplet. The user expresses concern about taking melatonin, wanting to limit their intake to less than 200 mcg, and acknowledges the importance of consulting a physician before starting any supplements. They share their experience of taking two droplets of melatonin and waking up feeling refreshed after a brief sleep, despite the bottle suggesting a full dropper. The user notes that new evidence indicates adult males may only need 150 mcg of melatonin. Overall, the conversation highlights the need for clarity in supplement dosing and the importance of medical advice.

Can anyone help me out?

Melatonin:

"Recommended Dose: Take 1 dropper a day at bedtime only."

"Medicinal Ingredients: Each 1 ml dropper contains: 3 mg"
Now for comparison purposes, I have an iodine supplement in liquid form too:

"Each 20 drops (1ml) contains: 1mg of trace mineral..."

"Directions: Take 5-10 drops in water or juice daily."

Okay, good. The iodine supplement was clear enough.

  • "Drops" Got it. Right? 1 little squeeze... a droplet.
  • "Droppers"... uuuh, what? The WHOLE plastic thing? Many Many droplets until empty?

This sounds like a stupid question, but for some reason I really don't want to trust my logic in this situation.

I only want to take <200 mcg of this melatonin stuff.

1ml is a cubic centimeter, so yes, that is what it is telling you.

Fill it to the 1 ml line. And before starting any supplements, be sure to consult a physician.

Okay, so I took 2 droplets yesterday night because I've been sleeping soundly at the wrong time of the days during the last couple of days; 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. If I were sleep deprived I would try to sleep at 8 to 10 p.m. but I'd sleep for only about 2-3 hours and I'd be up all night until about 5 a.m. and then I would sleep until I had to wake up at 8:00 a.m.

This stuff I took yesterday at 9:20 p.m., and I woke up like it was a 10 minute nap at 6:30 a.m. today. Just two droplets, and the bottle advises to take the whole dropper! 3 MG! http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/circa...sorders/10-how-to-use-melatonin-correctly.htm

The study provides critical new insights into the African Humid Period, a time between 14,500 and 5,000 years ago when the Sahara desert was a green savanna, rich in water bodies that facilitated human habitation and the spread of pastoralism. Later aridification turned this region into the world's largest desert. Due to the extreme aridity of the region today, DNA preservation is poor, making this pioneering ancient DNA study all the more significant. Genomic analyses reveal that the...
Whenever these opiods are mentioned they usually mention that e.g. fentanyl is "50 times stronger than heroin" and "100 times stronger than morphine". Now it's nitazene which the public is told is everything from "much stronger than heroin" and "200 times stronger than fentany"! Do these numbers make sense at all? How do they arrive at them? Kill thousands of mice? En passant: nitazene have already been found in both Oxycontin pills and in street "heroin" here, so Naloxone is more...
